Before moving to Columbia County, Peter Kaplan
spent 25 years as a professional commercial photographer in New York City
and was one of the founding members of the New York Chapter of the American
Society of Magazine Photographers. His photos have appeared in publications
throughout the world. Since his reintroduction to painting on canvas in
the 1980s, Kaplan’s more recent photographs have a notable painterly
