A former photography and art teacher at the Ansel Adams Center for Photography,
San Francisco Art Institute, and NYU, Theresa Ortolani has maintained
studios in both New York City and New Paltz. Two years ago, after a decade
of teaching, Ortolani left the academy to become a commercial fashion
photographer. Ortolani’s recent assignments have included shooting
for clothing designer Vivienne Tam and clothing company Essendi; her work
has been published in Travel+Leisure, Martha Stewart Living, and Women’s
