Nancy Donskoj visited Cologne, Germany in October 2003 through the Rhine-Hudson Bridge International Artists Exchange program.  A fine art and commercial photographer for almost 30 years, and the co-owner of Kingston's Donskoj & Company gallery, Donskoj was struck by Cologne's cathedral.  "It's the only landmark that survived World War II, so everything around it is in ruins," she says.  "It's an ongoing restoration project, with stone carvers on scaffolds always working on some part...yet it's so huge and dominating you'd have to be miles away to photograph the entire thing."
