A Tribute to Dizzy Gillespie and Charlie Parker - Richard Stanmeyer Quintet

The West Stockbridge Jazz Series presents emerging young artist Richard Stanmeyer, hailed as a “trumpet prodigy” by Berkshires Jazz. He has performed with well-known artists such as Rutshelle Guillaume and Belle & Sebastian, at venues including Symphony Hall and the Newport Jazz Festival. Richard’s mentors include many of the who’s-who for jazz and classical trumpet, including Ben Wright (BSO 2nd trumpet), GRAMMY award-winning trumpet player Nicholas Payton, Marquis Hill, and Tanya Darby. In May 2024 he graduated from the New England Conservatory. Richard will be joined by Omar Valenzuela, Piano, Mary Ann McSweeney, Bass and Tobias Israel, Drums.
